Photography of Music: Give or Take

Men should stop treating feminists like ladies and instead treat them like the men they say they want to be.
Phillis Schlafly.
I keep looking down when I photograph. It’s as if I wanna avoid what’s going on on the surface, even looking people in the eye, although most of them are really beautiful, especially women… May I change the composition?
But when I don’t look down, I look up and see the sky. There is no change in composition. I see the same patterns and textures as below the sky. I mean, I recognize them and thus I see that the world is the same.. as above so below, you know, and vice versa.
The thing of the matter is that I see the world getting ugly on one side and beautiful, or staying beautiful, but developing it, on the other side. Some people still choose to exploit Nature for their own use and others choose to protect Her, listen and learn from Her how to live a sustainable, self-governed accomplished life.
There are people who throw trash everywhere oblivious to the effects this behaviour has on Mother Earth and others who recycle or reuse their garbage wastes, revalue them, so to say, through a continuing cycle. Who are the smartest? The ones who give back or the ones who take away all the time?
But anyways, this chapter is not about environmental or psychological issues but about some visions that I had durring a trip outdoors. I was on a river bed and the water tide was very low, barely having a few ripples of water here and there and I thought to myself “What if this is a prelude of what’s to come? What if, soon, the tide will be very high and the river will come roaring from the mountains downstream and fill this river bed with tons of water?”. Sometimes this does happen and, while I then saw beauty in those wee ripples of water and the textury rocks.. wait to see the bigger stream, I said to myself. I also saw garbage here and there, and said to myself again that they will be carried away downstream to other places. Who knows where it will turn up?
The damage has been done and people are unaware of the consequences. We are unaware of what and how will be affected by the wastes we leave on earth and never reuse them.
In music, there is the notion of prelude which is like an introduction, a preface for the actual work itself. It announces what it is to come and so I saw a prelude of the consequences of our actions and the consequences of Mother Nature’s actions. It may be a symphony of grandeur, both tragical or dramatic, or with a happy end. It all depends on us if we do it right, if we become better or superior to what we already are: a (mostly) unsustainable humanity.
But nevertheless, the world has no problem, you know. Needlessly do we try to modify it, to wipe out some things, reinvent others, change human natures, for man will always be man and woman will always be woman.
Nowadays, more than ever, the world is so crooked that it is totally mutilated. The head wants to be the neck and the neck, the foot.. and so on.
There is only one solution: stop modifying Nature and give it peace! This is the ultimate act of Love!
